Re: Direct determination of parrot evolution

Wow! I know this is off topic - but I'm going to post it to my parrot species lists. People there talk about how to not lose birds, and how to find lost birds, but none of them thought of teaching the bird its address.

Not surprising - parrots are very highly intelligent. Many can even carry on conversations. The ability to sing songs is not unusual.

My budgies aren't as bright, though. I asked them to tell me about their ancestors, and I got blank looks. ;)

Subject: Direct determination of parrot evolution

After reading the story at the following site.....

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/05/21/lost.parrot.ap/index.html

..... I was wondering, has if anyone has simply asked the parrots about their evolutionary history and phylogeny?
