Did dinosaurs get mucus in their noses? And how did they (especially the
theropods, with those sharp foreclaws) get it out? Did they snort hard or
something?
Few if any had a complete secondary palate. Chickens have a secondary palate
with a slit in the middle, through which mucus drips into the mouth.
Rather ask what, say, dogs do (complete secondary palate, claws, and no way
to get a finger into the nose in the first place). I have no idea. I presume
they breathe through the mouth till the infection is over?
