Re: Publication dates and dinosaur genera and species for 2008

Regardless of the given year of the journal, there should be a publication date somewhere in the journal, paper, or possibly the reprint. However, such is not always the case. Sometimes those are not the same and the last issue of a volume is actually published in the following year. That would be cited as "2008 (for 2007)."

Dear listers,

This is not necessarily ON TOPIC for the list, but I am curious as to
why there are often discrepancies between the date marked on published
articles and the dates that they are considered as being... example,
Macrogryphosaurus, the volume it was published in says
November/December 2007, but if I understand right, it wasn't published
until 2008? How are people supposed to be able to keep track of this?
Also, does anyone know what dinosaur genus and species have been
published in 2008 so far?

Here's what I have thus far:

Camptosaurus aphanocetes - iguanodontian
Dakotadon (new genus for Iguanodon lakotaensis) - iguanodontian
Diceratus (replacement name for Diceratops) - ceratopsid
Dollodon bampingi (new genus for Iguanodon bampingi) - iguanodontian
Eoconfuciusornis zhengi - pygostylian avialan
Macrogryphosaurus gondwanicus - iguanodontian
Microceratus (replacement name for Microceratops) - neoceratopsian
Muyelensaurus pecheni - titanosaurid
Pengornis houi - enantiornithine
