Loads of "ifs" about this question, and it's total speculation of course,
but if such a animal survived to adult-hood, I suspect it would likely be a
bit of a social outcast and perhaps, as a result, be a bit smaller than
average and therefore more gun-shy about conspecific confrontations or
social engagements. I picture such an animal on the outside perimeters of
the whatever social group these types of critters may have had; and perhaps
collecting more visible flesh wounds or a greater than average number of
bumps and bruises over its lifetime.
