They might want to try this out with "blue" (American)
jays. These seem to have higher social skills than
flocking corvids, scrub-jays and the Blue/Steller's
Jays in particular* - these we know already to keep an
active eye on their buddies' behavior and adjust
theirs accordingly. ("Brown" jays - i.e. _Garrulus_ -
and "grey" jays - _Perisoreus_ are not very social,
the former being a bit of loners and the latter coming
together more opportunistically than socially)
