a bowlegged posture with the feet tucked under the body with the rest of
the leg angled outward, as ceratopsian tracks seem to have been made in
fairly narrow paths.
Has anyone considered that ceratopsians could switch between upright and
sprawling postures?
I base the conjecture on my recent pursuit of a large green iguana
through my house. Normally, "Tillie" has a very sprawled posture; when
she needs to run, however, her legs straighten out and she "stands" to run.
Perhaps ceratopsians spent most of their time sprawled, but could use an
upright posture for running or long-distance movement?
Side note: I've always felt that Paleontologists should keep a few
modern reptiles as pets/companions. Seems somehow appropriate and
possibly useful.
