I agree; this is is an idea so nasty that I couldn't
have come up with it. Intriguing though, because if
nothing else, it shows how far homoplasies can go if
foot-propelled diving avians' legs are not enough.

BTW Rahonavis: is there any more recent discussion of
the taphonomy of R. vs. Vorona?
