Re: lizard sounds
I have a number of herps in my home and office.
Our Uromastyx maliensis "purr", a clicking noise that seems to come from
their throat. They make this sound in what I perceive to be pleasurable
circumstances... such as when given treats.
The green iguanas can only hiss (and that rarely), while the
Gerrhosaurus validus (giant African plated lizards) have never made any
sound at all.
The wild geckos in our house do squeak and "whistle" sometimes, though
not often. The wild anoles (may sp.) are mute.
