They are often kept as pets in PNG while they are still young, but they tend
to end up on the dinner table (and as bone implements) once they reach
adulthood.
The only wild one I've ever been close to was actually quite friendly
and very fond of bananas.
Note to self: cancel trip to Queensland nude beach.
