ceratop(s?)ids
FYI ...
A family based on the dinosaur _Ceratops_ should be called "Ceratopidae".
A family based on the ostracod _Ceratopsis_ should be "Ceratopsiidae"
or "-opseidae"
A family based on the orchid _Ceratopsis_ should be "Ceratopsiaceae"
or "-opseaceae".
... or that's the conclusions I've reached after scouring the ICZN
code and a lexicon of ancient Greek.
Short version; the critters currently discussed should probably be
called ceratopids. :)
