I don't think I ever made a point about latinization of anything, though
David seems to be arguing that the latinization of the name _haoiana_ MUST be
emended to _haoianus_, and has been using this subsequently (as in the subject
line of this thread in within it), as in switching the used gender for the
adjective from -iana to -ianus. David brings up "if the gender ending is
incorrect it must be changed accordingly (the author and date of the name
remain unchanged," which alludes to accordant emendation which, as I stated in
my previous post on this subject, applied in Article 32.5, and which doesn't
allow the change David asks for. Thus, we should at this point be well versed
in Articles 32, 34, and so forth, and how they all lead to the two conditions
for which emendation can take place. I believe we all went through this when we
were discussing the nomenclature of "millenii" and it's incorrect structure, as
well as "changii" (named also for a woman). None of these were the result of
editorial or ms error, but were original to the ms and publication, and thus
the authors' [if mistaken] latinization, yet these names have not been so
emended, and are continuously used, without the universe imploding, so I think
we are safe in keeping _haoiana_ around for all intents and purposes.
