Oh, I agree that there probably was a well-diversified "sauropod hide
niche" during the Mesozoic.  (a food source that is that tempting would
not go untapped for very long).

Question:  Are the birds that pick the parasites off of African elephants
the same taxa that pick the parasites off of, say, hippos and Wildebeast?
