And, of course, there is the possibility that the brachiopatagium did run to the hindlimb, but only as a very narrow stretch of membrane (thus maintaining an overall narrow chord).

In the photo it -- or the region with the dark patches anyway -- is indeed rather narrow, running more parallel to the leg than 90° away from the ankle.
