Re: Dinosaur Movies
Or a little less stringent of a definition:
A "1-reeler" is a film that occupies no more than one
reel of film. Most feature-length films are actually
stored and shipped on several film reels (the reels
were kept relitavely small for ease of transport, as
they were stored in think, heavy steel boxes to
prevent damage). The reels must be spliced together
or have a frame or two overlap and be "doubled-up" in
the projector to make for a seemless transition (I've
heard you can see the transitions even in modern
theaters if you know what to look for).
Like Rose Alexander wrote, many early films were short
enough to be shipped on one reel.
I can't think of any dinosaur movies that aren't
already on the list at the begining of this topic, but
yes, IMDB is probably the best place to look.
