RE: Covered stegosaurs

Thanks - I knew the story, I just wondered whether marsh had actually spelt
it out in the text or it was assumed (see alternative meaning from my prev
post - verb 'to ward off'
cheers

Subject: Covered stegosaurs

Greetings,

I'm at home, so don't have my Marsh reprints, but O.C. originally thought
that the plates were arranged as enormous overlapping scales. Or more to
the point, shingles. Hence, "roofed reptile."
