According to Carr et al. 2005, Dryptosaurus is demarcated from
Appalachiosaurus by the absence of a socket in the dorsal margin of the
astragalus and the lack of the cranial process of the tibia.
The citation in Rauhut et Xu 2005 for the "?Valanginian-Albian" Age of the
