EDMONTON - Philip Currie, the world-renowned paleontologist, is leaving
the Royal Tyrrell Museum to become a professor at the University of
Alberta.
The hiring of Currie, the curator and one of the founders of the
dinosaur museum in Drumheller in 1985, is a huge coup for the U of A,
which has the largest university-based paleontology program in North
America but had no big-name dinosaur guru until now.
