Indeed, his accomplishments _will_ live forever.

So will his noble lineage.

Ostrom > Bakker  > Paul > etc. > etc.

Of course this tree has many more branches leading from its root, but I
know (through the press) of only this one. Perhaps some DMLers can help
here.

John was walking alone toward a dinner at which he was to be honored at
a Seattle SVP a few years back. He was kind enough to let our party
share a few steps, a few thoughts and well wishes with him on his way.
