Yes, except it's not a genetive (as 
http://csssrvr.entnem.ufl.edu/~jhf/kiss24.htm correctly explains). That 
would be "Canada's".

Not a genetive either. It's an adjective ending appended to places. If you 
drop the -n- (as in Italian) and the final -s (as everywhere), you get into 
English: Chin-ese, New York-ese... "Chinese" and "sinensis" is the same word 
for all practical purposes.
