This is not to contradict your statement, but I was under the impression
that derivative ranks were under the purview of the ICZN. Thus, orders and
classes and phyla and divisions are exempt; but superfamilies and
subfamilies (taxa ending in -oidea and -inae, respectively) were regulated
by the ICZN, since they are derived from family-level taxa, which are under
ICZN regulation.
