Mamenchisaurus (?) info
Dear DML members,
I'm interested to know the actual status of the species Zigongosaurus
fuxiensis and Omeisaurus fuxiensis. I know that (maybe) they are now
referred to Mamenchisaurus, but is not clear to me if they are based on the
same type species or not. I've found that the describers are different for
the two taxon, Z. fuxiensis Hou, Zhao et Zhu, 1976 and O. fuxiensis Dong,
Zhou et Zhang, 1983. And, if they are not the same beast, the occurence is
the same? And the etimology for the word "fuxiensis"?
Finally I need any info about Omeisaurus zigongensis Tanimoto, 1988.
Thanks in advance
Marco
