You could give this bit of 'evidence' to a elementary school english 
class and tell them to write a story on why the tooth got lodged there 
and I bet you'd come up with a different [plausible] answer from each 
student [that didn't cheat . . .].
It kinda strikes me odd that scientific types who write these articles 
jump to some of the conclusions they jump to. I'm reminded of my 
grizzly bear & koala analogy. Just because they've never seen each 
other or co-exist, doesn't mean that if you wave a koala in front of a 
hungry grizzly, it's going to turn down this meal opportunity - like 
"Sorry, I can't eat you. I've a strictly North American diet. You'd 
mess up the whole fong-schwey(sp?) of my stomach". lol.
