Patagosaurus

A few interesting tidbits...

(1) Among the material referred to _Patagosaurus_ by Bonaparte (1986) is a 
partial skeleton that pertains to a new sauropod taxon.  This taxon differs 
from _Patagosaurus_ in features of the teeth, dorsal vertebrae, and ilium, 
and will be described by Rauhut at a later date.  Thus, there are three 
known Canadon Asfalto Formation sauropods: _Patagosaurus_, _Volkheimeria_, 
and the new taxon.

(2) The sauropod _Tehuelchesaurus_, which was originally described as 
hailing from the Canadon Asfalto Formation (Callovian; Rich et al., 1999), 
actually comes from the younger Canadon Calcareo Formation 
(Kimmeridgian-Tithonian).

(3) Rauhut regards _Patagosaurus_ as a non-neosauropodan eusauropod.
