Keratin = horn substance. (Even in the name: keras = horn in Greek.) The
hollow part of a horn, you know, used for drinking, is keratin.

Don't think so... keratin, being a protein, isn't easily preserved. There
are a few claw sheaths in Mongolia (e. g. brooding *Citipati* specimens),
but otherwise one needs sites with soft-tissue preservation (Solnhofen
upwards).
