Dino's skin tells tale of environment

It's impossible to know how the house-size dinosaur died.
But what the duck-billed vegetarian left behind - to be discovered in
Northern Wyoming more than 67 million years later - is providing new glimpses
into
the humid and tropical prehistoric world that once existed in our region and
may
lead scientists to rethink the reaches of a vast inland ocean.
Some of the most intriguing clues are finely preserved pieces of dinosaur
skin found in Elk Basin, north of Powell, by paleontologist Marilyn Wegweiser.
On Thursday, Wegweiser showed off the artifacts at Montana State
University-Billings as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series.
"We are all fascinated by dinosaurs," Wegweiser said. "They're big, they're
dead and if you watch television, they eat people."
