As far as I know, still nomen nudum. (For a general rule of thumb, if you
can't find a DML archive message listing the paper in which it was
described, it ain't legit yet). If it HAS been published, prove me wrong by
listing the reference. (And, ummm, sending me a copy... :-).

Given that the paper isn't even out, I have no clue how anyone would figure
an etymology. Especially one about chickens! *I* would assume the name
honors the Araucan people.
