*****SPAM***** medullaris?

Goodafternoon (when I wrote this) everybody :-)

As usual my question concerns the etymology for a dinosaur name.
However, this time I know what the name means (I think) and I am curious to its reason.

*Itemirus medullaris*
I know all about the generic name (named after Itemir in the Kyzyl Kum Desert.)
I also know that the specific name, *medullaris* means "Pithy," or at least that's the translation I found.
Does anybody know why this name was chosen? And if it does NOT mean "Pithy" then what is the translation used by Kurzanov and his reason for it?

Thanks,
Tommy Bradley :-)
