Gauthier & de Queiroz 2001 define _Tinamidae_ as a stem-modified crown clade.
All the other neornithean (=avian, in their usage) clades they define are more
inclusive than traditional orders.
I don't know of any other work that phylogenetically defines neornithean
clades, but would sure like to, if such exist.
