A little bit of info regarding the difference in tyrannosaur adults and
juviniles...
Komodo dragons will sometimes take down prey as a group. Dominance also plays
into feeding as well.
The young hatch(without parental care), and live a TOTALLY different live than
the adults. They are better climbers, have different camo, and eat insects and
lizards. They also have to avoid the adults, or they'll get eaten.
Eventually, after a few years, they get big enough to start joining in on
feedings, if not at a low rank. The bigger they get, the more the rely on
large prey as food, and the less they have to chase insects and lizards.
I guess we have to wonder if the dinosaurs behaved (socially) like birds, or
like reptiles.
