Re: Good dino-related grad schools?

Hi Caleb (and DML),

For starters, I can refer you to the SVP webpage with graduate school listings--it's a pretty comprehensive guide to schools with vertebrate paleontologists on their graduate student roster.

http://www.vertpaleo.org/education/gradprograms.html

The DML FAQ is a good place to start, too. Most of what I might say is contained in there. But, I'm happy to chat with you (or anyone else, for that matter), who is looking at finding a graduate school, as I just completed that process myself. I can offer a particularly "well-informed" (or at least convincing) opinion of Stony Brook after three months here. :-)

Best wishes,

Andy

All,

Now that I am about half way through college I am beginning to look for grad schools with paleo programs, especially ones within geology grad school programs that have paleontologists who research dinosaurs or mosasaurs. But just generally, I was curious as to which schools currently have the top paleontology grad programs in the country right now, and wanted to start out my research of grad schools with hearing personal opinions from people either also looking at grad schools, in them, or paleontologists who have already been through them, or people who just happen to know anyway. Since this list is a mix of various different age groups and people, I thought it would be a good idea to ask here.

                                                                Thanks,
                                                        Caleb Lewis
