Just that it's _bayan_, as in Bayan shiree and Bayanzag. At least that's 
how it's actually written in Mongolian; the Russians apparently didn't 
listen carefully (and didn't bother reading the originals -- in 
Cyrillic!), and then their American colleagues tried to copy the Russian 
versions... ~:-( 
        The i in Bain- is supposed to be pronounced yi, because that's how 
Russian i ( |/| ) (which is used for some such names in Russian texts) is 
pronounced after a vowel.
