Off to Alaska, want some help

Well, in roughly 4 months, I'll be at Elmendorf AFB outside of Anchorage, 
Alaska. The 11th Operational Weather Squadron. And get this... I'll be there 
for 3 years. Honestly, I can't wait.

So, since I'll be up there, I was wondering what places to check out, be them 
quarries, museums, collecting sites... Anything. I'm sure mammals and maybe 
inverts are going to be the order of the day, besides North Slope, and that's 
just fine with me... If anyone has ANY paleo info on Alaska, I'd love to see it.

On Sunday, I leave Texas for Keesler AFB in fabulous Biloxi Mississippi for Air 
Force Officer Weather School. By the end of September, I'll be in Alaska... 
just in time for months of darkness. Gotta love it!

I'll be taking a hiatus from the list during my time in Mississippi, and will 
resubscribe when settled in Alaska. This will happen starting Friday. I'll 
still be able to check my mail periodically, so, if need be, you can drop me 
lines at my MariusRomanus@aol.com address. Oh, and as of right now, I'll still 
be able to attend the SVP meeting... this time for the entire conference... not 
just one day. Hopefully, this doesn't change (fingers crossed).
