Info on Apatosaurus excelsus skull
Dear DML members in Glut's Dinosaurs the Encyclopedia supplement.1 at the
entry of Apatosaurus there're mention that in 1997 Connely reported the
discovery of the first complete skull and jaw of Apatosaurus referrable to
the species A. excelsus, and in 1998 Bakker in a report on
Jurassic-Cretaceous transition in Wyoming and Colorado pointed out salient
differences between the A. excelsus (TATE 099) skull and the A. louisae (CM
11162) skull. Bakker stated that the braincase of CM 11162 has basitubera
located just forward of the occipital condyle, far posterior to the position
seen in TATE 099. Please could someone tell me if the follow paper:
_Connely, Melissa V. and Hawley R. A study of apatosaurine crania, based on
new material at the Tate Museum
listed as in preparation by Glut was published? or if there're someone in
press or published about this skull?
And Bakker in his 1998 paper "Dinosaur mid-life crisis: the
Jurassic-Cretaceous transition in Wyoming and Colorado" did describe this
skull of pointed out only in the differences between it and CM 11162?
By and thank's
