Coelurosaur analysis update
Time for another update, though my actual paying job has been keeping me
from doing as much as I'd like. Important changes from last time include-
1. I constrain the results to keep Coelurosauria monophyletic, as otherwise
tyrannosauroids are carnosaurs owing to the lack of coelurosaur
synapomorphies included yet.
2. Coding of Tyrannosauridae (Brochu, 2003), Protarchaeopteryx (unpub.),
Byronosaurus (Makovicky et al., 2003), Sapeornis (Zhou and Zhang, 2003) and
Ambiortus (Kurochkin, 1999) updated.
3. Archaeornithomimus, Eoenantiornis and Longchengornis excluded for now,
because the first just polytomizes ornithomimosaurs and I don't trust the
published data much for the latter two.
4. Shenzhouraptor and Jeholornis have been combined into one OTU.
5. I changed several cranial characters to be more objective, combined some
together, added/deleted others, and changed the coding of several (mostly to
better reflect inapplicable codings).
Still 186 characters, the strict consensus is-

Also, "Chilantaisaurus" maortuensis and Eotyrannus are sister taxa in
Tyrannosauroidea when included (not shown).
Note several interesting features-
- deinonychosaurian Ornitholestes.
- actual structure within Deinonychosauria.
- non-maniraptoriform enigmosaurs and deinonychosaurs.
- all traditional maniraptoriformes are avialans.
- Protarchaeopteryx as a basal enigmosaur.
- Archaeornithoides as a basal ornithomimosaur.
- Pelecanimimus as a basal alvarezsaurian.
- troodontids closest to birds.
- a Sauriurae of sorts including the long-tailed birds.
- Sapeornis more basal than confuciusornithids.
- enantiornithines as ornithuromorphs.
I'll probably update again once I go over my axial and pectoral characters
to mprove them.
