Re: Mini Coelurosauria Analysis

I have recently obtained the Phylogeny Inference Package, (PHYLIP), & as a test I did a mini coelurosaur analysis.

It is important to note that because PHYLIP is a package which program you used. Could you post on-list as to what program you used? Pars? Penny?

I used 14 taxa & 17 characters.
(Well, not really characters I have an idea about what
groups share characteristics, so every character is
based on a clade).

Could you post your infile on-list?

(I kept finding T-rex out of
Neotetanurae, & I dont know why).

Is Tyrannosaurus your first OTU in the infile? If so, it's falling to the base because it is the outgroup.

Questions/comments welcome.

What did you code Oviraptor on? The holotype or the material referred to Citipati?

Also, you need to have more basal taxa. Don't use such derived ones all by themselves. It's not the late 80s to mid 90s anymore! -_^
