A third person involved in this, Thad Roberts, also stole dinosaur fossils in
Utah. He may be given a harsher sentence, along with a second, consecutive
prison term for the fossil theft. The four people also stole 33 years of a
scientist's research notes from the NASA moon-rock safe, and those books have
unfortunately not been found.

"Taking part in the crime ended promising career paths that might have led the
women to become astronauts. The convictions exclude them from many fields of
science where felons who stole research materials would not be welcome."
