No.
Er, uh, _we_ can get along, but our hypotheses can't. When there are n
contradicting opinions in science, _at least (n - 1) are wrong_. And _at
most_ one is completely correct. Therefore there's an entire book entitled
(in German) "The truth does not lie in the middle". We must "fight it out",
until at least (n - 1) of the alternatives are disproved.
In this particular debate, "obligate scavenger or not", you are on one side
("not") when you "keep an open mind", because even cheetahs scavenge
regularly, if not often (thanks, Darren :-) ). "Not" already is the "middle
ground", there is no "middle ground" between this and "obligate scavenger".
