Actually, LAG studies tend to suggest that hypsies remained active
during the winters (as do the enlarged optic lobes of Leaellynasaura).
The theropod Timimus showed strong LAGs, however.

Besides, are there any high latitude hypsies at the K/T boundary? As
someone else has pointed out, terminal Maastrichtian deposits are few
and far between in Australia. I don't know of any other high latitude
end-K hypsies elsewhere.
