IIRC a chapter in Currie & Padian's The Dinosaur Encyclopedia (1998) says
something like only Cheirolepidiaceae ( = Hirmeriellaceae), a group of
conifers that died out at the K-T, grew in the Mesozoic tropics and
indicates dry conditions, right? (In any case *Hirmeriella* is known from
Solnhofen.)
