Re: Some theropod stuff...

In response to HP Headden's question:

< I would like to know if there is further data on this humerus, though.

Which was in reponse to the following image (created by HP Jansma):
http://www.alphalink.com.au/~dannj/temp/oztherin.jpg

...and a post sent to the list by me regarding the Australian mystery
humerus, based on a message sent by HP Jansma (is everyone still with
me?):

The only primary reference I could find was J.Long 1992 "First Dinosaur
Bones from Western Australia", in *The Beagle, Records of the Northern
Territory Museum of Arts and Sciences*, Vol.9:21-28. There is a brief
entry in "Dinosaurs of Australia and New Zealand", by the same author,
but apart from the picture, not much information is imparted there. I'm
afraid the original paper is so obscure that even I would have trouble
tracking it down (and I live in Australia).

The bone is distinguished in being the youngest dinosaur remains known
from the continent (Late Maastrichtian), indicating that there ARE some
terminal-Cretaceous deposits out there (sometimes it seems like the
Mesozoic ended in the Early Cretaceous down here).
