I still think the "saurus" part is a bit passe. And I doubt that a
sauropod would have treaded heavily enough to create "thunder" (at
least, not more than once in its lifetime). Perhaps a better name, if
one was required, would be "brontocaudus", alluding to the use of the
tail. Even if they didn't actually whip-crack them, a blow from said
appendage would certainly leave one feeling thunder-struck (if capable
of any feeling at all).

I believe Shakespeare once said something about the whole
brontosaurus/apatosaurus thing. Something about roses?  :)
