Sorry to be proverbially anal, but there is no 'Wealden
Formation': formally, there is a Wealden Group which
(together with the Hastings Group) is the Wealden
Supergroup. _Ornithodesmus_ and the type material of
_Regnosaurus_ are not contemporaneous - within the
Wealden Group, _Ornithodesmus_ is from the Wessex
Formation (which is only exposed on the Isle of Wight and
is Barremian-Aptian) while _Regnosaurus_ is from an
unnamed Valanginian unit.
Material referred to _Regnosaurus_ (by George, in the
Dinosaur Folios) has since been reported from the Wessex
Formation however, bringing us full circle:) In the absence
of overlapping material, this material cannot be shown to be
_Regnosaurus_ though and in Naish and Martill (in
Dinosaurs of the Isle of Wight) we have it as Stegosauria
indet.
Congrats to Josh, Matt and the rest for a really good
dinosaur documentary (Lost Dinosaurs of Egypt). This is
the first science-based documentary I've seen in ages that I
didn't find insulting, patronising, over-simplified or crap.
The biographical info on Stromer was nice and I was
amazed to see the glass slide of the mounted _Spinosaurus_
type.. as Josh said: "He had it mounted (!!!)". Wow. The
human side made it fun two - there were some hilarious
one-liners (akin to "Dude, where's my car" [sorry]), sadly I
haven't committed them to memory. The one thing I did
object to a bit was the implication that Stromer and his work
had been forgotten or neglected - I suppose this is true to a
degree but, among those of us who work on dinosaurs,
Stromer and his dinosaurs have always been at the forefront
of our awareness. Oh yeah, I think Jerry made a brief guest
appearance.
