Re: Supercroc
To the list, for a brief, not intended to be superiorly concise listing,
the various supercrocs....
*Sarcosuchus tenerensis* and *S. imperator* are both from the Aptian to
Albian transition of Niger and Bahia, Brazil, and are crocodyliforms
related to the pholidosaur *Terminonaris.*
*Deinosuchus rugosus/hatcheri* and *D. (Phobosuchus?) riograndensis* are
from the Campanian to Maastrichtian of central and eastern United States.
*Purrusaurus,* a caiman (Alligatoroidea) is from the Miocene of Brazil,
and *Rhamphosuchus* (Crocodylidae, Tomisominae -- formerly a gavialoid
associated with *Thoracosaurus*) is from the Miocene-Pliocene of the
Siwalik Beds of India.
*Leidyosuchus* and *Borealosuchus* are related, smaller crocs (not
really supercrocs, but bigger than any known saltie), alligatorids, from
the Paleocene-Eocene of the southern US to northern Canada.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
=====

Little steps are often the hardest to take. We are too used to making leaps
in the face of adversity, that a simple skip is so hard to do. We should all
learn to walk soft, walk small, see the world around us rather than zoom by it.
