Sorry Mickey, but I don't understand why you think this is such a
"horrible" decision. According to Jaime, segnosaurs lack fully-capped
metacarpals I and II (flexor-extensorly) and do not have the classic
semilunate shape (as well as being unfused). This is not a "true"
semilunate carpal block on several points.
Segnosaurs also lack the convex coracoid glenoid, and apparently have
a primitive eggshell type (perhaps controversial?).
And I would have to agree that there are fewer enigmosaur
synapomorphies than people on this list seem to think (at least
synapomorphies that are exclusively enigmosaurian). I see too many
homoplasy "red flags" waving around. Something just isn't right about this
"enigmosaur" holophyly thing in my opinion. I just can't get around this.
Sorry, but I simply don't see it.
