Re: predator
After watching Blue Planet bo0th monday and last night I think that this
fine series really pointed out the need to deifne various levels of
preditation. In the segments of both sardines and herrings there were the
primary preds that scoped out the prey, porpoise, followed by preds that
weren't that smart, with birdes waiting around because they couldn't get to
the prey followed by sharks who came by the see what all the ruckes is
about and finally a baleen whale droped in for a bite.there may be more but
Ican't remember.None of these animals would be classed as anything but a
pred but it seems to me that there are several types of preditation to be
considered.

Gee, I thought predation was just killing your own food...who cares how you
did it? For "types of predation" try calling it "hunting methods" instead.
