RE: COLBERT ON COELOPHYSIS

<<I heard that some of the stuff Colbert illustrates might not even be
dinosaurian. Certainly some of his diagrams don't match the actual
specimens.>>

Well, I don't know if I'd go that far, but I guess it's a possibility. It's
very odd that the illustrations are such rubbish, since the Scutellosaurus
monograph that he wrote just a few years earlier and published in the same
place (MNA Bulletins) has excellent illustrations that are very accurate. I
guess they must have gotten a different technical artist.

<<Sankar Chatterjee is supposed to have a phd student re-doing
_Coelophysis_ - can anyone confirm?>>

I asked a student of Chatterjee, and he said he has no knowledge of anyone
working on Coelophysis. There is Ron Tykoski at UT-Austin working under Tim
Rowe on coelophysoids, but I dont think specifically on Coelophysis.
