Calculating biomass

Honorable people,
    I have a simple question.  How does one calculate the mass of
ichnospecies?  What would an equation to determine the life mass look like, 
and what information would be in the equation?  What kind of data would you 
need from the tracks?  Depth of track?  Size?  Distance between prints 
(which would also help determine speed and stride)?
    I am thankful for and welcome any answers in advanced.
