Re: Accuracy of my Velociraptor restoration



 

I recently did a life restoration of a V.mongoliensis  for an exhibit at a local museum. The person setting up the exhibit loved it; however, I really don't know how accurate it is.

That person had good reasons to love it. I'd only like to add that at least in the cf. Sinornithosaurus specimen the feathers reach much farther forward on the snout, IMHO the entire snout was covered (after all there was no beak, unless PDW is correct). I still wonder why they stopped preparing the feathers of the Sinosauropteryx holotype just in front of the eyes while they seem to continue (maybe they have prepared it meanwhile, don't know), so that it looks like having a bare snout while we apparently don't know that.
