Re: Gigantosaurus....the largest carnivore in the dinosaurian world?
I was under the impression that the Spinosaurus had taken that title, as
some sources I have (offline ones) says that a skeleton was measured at
being 15m in length. The Gigantosaurus that im familiar with is 12.5m.
Since the Bruhathkayosaurus has been discovered as a sauropod rather than a
massive Tyrannosaur.....wouldnt the length make the Spinosaurus the larger
species?
Noone knows the exact lenght of Spinosaurus, since no complete skeletons has
been found. All we know of spinosaurus are mainly dorsal vertebrae, jaw
material and some other fragments. But if it could reach a lenght of 15
metres, Carcharodontosaurus and Giganotosaurus would still be considered
'bigger' because they were more massively built and heavier.
