Paleo Find of the Year 2001 Results

Hey,
I am happy to report that the results of my Paleo Find of the Year 2001 contest
are in. I was happy with the influx of nominations and votes by the list,
although the nominations were heavily dinosaur biased. I think I will take up
HP Mike Keesey's suggestion next year and add nominations myself if I think
there are glaring omissions.

Anyway, based on the vote, the DML members and other dinosaur buffs across the
world have selected the integumentary psittacosaurid as the Paleo Find of the
Year. Although it has been known for quite awhile, the specimen was discussed
in a commentary article in a scientific journal and was purchased by a museum
this past year. A study was also began on the fossil, which means we will all
have to hold our breaths and wait for the journal.

Coming in a close second were Paralititan and Sarcosuchus.

I would like to thank everyone who nominated and voted!

Have a happy New Year, everyone!

Steve
